07 October-A LEGEND AT THE BOSPHORUS
ALFRED BRENDEL (PIANO)
Esteemed pianist of our age, Mr. Alfred Brendel will perform in a concert-lecture on the subject: "Does all classical music have to be entirely serious?" He will demonstrate his legendary Haydn and Beethoven interpretations. Albert Long Hall will be proud to host Mr.Brendel.
14 October- FAIRY TALES IN MOZART�S FLUTE QUARTETS
VIERI BOTTAZZINI (FLUTE) AND TRIO LIBERO
Italian flautist Vieri Bottazzini and �Trio Libero� made up of young Turkish artists will perform four flute quartets of Mozart in which he demonstrates his lace-like craftmanship. Performed very seldom, we will taste the different colors and unique identity of each quartet.
21 October-THE MAGIC OF PICCOLO TRUMPET WITH THE ORGAN
FRANZ WAGNERMEYER (TRUMPET)/ROBERT KOVACS (ORGAN)
The glitter of the piccolo trumpet, like Maurice Andre�s, will be matched by the spiritual sound of our organ. In this magical atmosphere, the Viennese artists will perform Corelli and Albinoni from the Baroque Age, Fauré and Franck from Romanticism and Piazzola from the 20th century.
04 November-THE VOICE OF HEAVEN
RADU MARIAN (MALE SOPRANO)/ TRIO BAROQUE
The Italian singer Radu Marian has a natural male soprano voice, which is very rare. The Trio Baroque group, made of Italian artists, will perform early music like motets, arias and pastorals of the 17th century.
11 November-LOVE SONGS AND LOVE DANCES
LA CETRA D�ORFEO GROUP
The Belgian artists will perform dances, songs, and ballads, with period instruments, in original costumes within a rich choreography. This program, �Ay amor, delightful harmony� will remain in our memories with its rich show and beautiful melodies.
18 November-ORCHESTRA OF SEVEN INSTRUMENTS
ENSEMBLE A(I)RCO
Carla Leurs, the young genius violinist from Holland, was very much appreciated in her last year�s performance of an Eight Seasons program. This time she will perform with the group A(I)RCO that she has founded with star performers of wind and string instruments, playing music of the romantic composers.
02 December-REMEMBERING CEREN NECIPOGLU
SIRIN PANCAROGLU (HARP) AND ISABELLE PERRIN (HARP)
Ceren, a harpist and a graduate of Bogazici Translation Department, worked during her lifetime for the betterment of harp playing in Turkey. We lost her in the terrible aircrash over the Atlantic Ocean. World-known harp soloists Pancaroglu and Perrin will be playing Ceren�s favorites in this commemoration concert.
09 December-HANDEL�S ITALIAN ADVENTURES
EMMA KIRKBY (SOPRANO) AND LONDON BAROQUE
Dame Emma Kirkby keeps her popularity with her individual and delicate style. As usual, she is on the agendas of music centers this year. She will be our guest with the Italian songs of Handel. The experts of ancient music, London Baroque, will accompany her and perform their pieces in the original style.
16 December-THE MAGIC OF BRAHMS
SUSANNA YOKO HENKEL (VIOLIN), MILANA CHERNYAVSKA (PIANO), MONIKA LESKOVAR (CELLO), GUY BEN-ZIONY (VIOLA)
Brahms� colorful chamber music palette will be reflected by his 1st piano trio and 1st piano quartet. We will enjoy them just as his huge symphonic works. The group consists of German, Japanese, Israeli and Ukranian artists. Their outstanding performance will make us like Brahms once more.
23 December-WELCOME TO THE CHOPIN YEAR
SZCZEPAN KOŃCZAL (PIANO)
Chopin, poet of the piano, will be celebrated in 2010 for the 200th anniversary of his birth. We will begin to participate in these celebrations in our final concert of this year, by a gifted young Polish pianist. We will step into a romantic new year by listening to the characteristic pieces of this great composer.
